Students will gain working knowledge of a tall ship from the mid-19th Century.
A unique and exciting introduction to navigation, line handling, knot tying, food at sea and helming on board the tall ship One and All. Hands on activities explore the concepts and skills required to become a crew member and navigate a classic brigantine of the mid-nineteenth century.
- A one hour guided session on board the brigantine One and All.
- A self-guided visit to the South Australian Maritime Museum.
- The opportunity to climb the Port Adelaide lighthouse and identify local landmarks.
Student learning is enhanced with an optional Port River cruise. Students will cruise the waterways on board the historic police vessel, they might be lucky to spy evidence of the port river dolphins.
This program is available during Term 3, Week 8 (Mon 11 – Thursday 14 September 2017) and Term 4, Week 3 (Mon 30 October – Thurs 2 November 2017)
What to bring: hat, lunch & water bottles. Wear: closed, flat shoes
